“God is too wise to err, and too good to withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. Then do not fear to trust Him, even though you do not see the immediate answer to your prayers. Rely upon His sure promise, ‘Ask, and it shall be given you.” - Steps to Christ, 96.2
Satan is ready to catch away the seeds of divine truth from the soul. He fears that the word of God may awaken the careless, and take effect upon the hardened heart. Satan and his angels are in the assemblies where the gospel is preached. While angels of heaven endeavor to impress hearts with the word of God, the enemy is on the alert to make the word of no effect. Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 44

“There are many who are reading the Scriptures who cannot understand their true import. All over the world men and women are looking wistfully to heaven. Prayers and tears and inquiries go up from souls longing for light, for grace, for the Holy Spirt. Many are on the verge of the kingdom, wailing only to be gathered in.” Acts of the Apostles, p. 109
“While the claims of the law of God are to be presented to the world, we should never forget that love— the love of Christ—is the only power that can soften the heart and lead to obedience.” Evangelism p. 484.3
